A comprehensive global study has confirmed that plastic food and drink packaging constitutes the single most pervasive category of coastal litter on Earth.

Researchers analysed data drawn from over 5,300 shoreline surveys spanning 94 countries, making this the most extensive investigation of its kind ever undertaken.
