The London Science Museum has ended its partnership with the oil and gas company BP.

The two organisations have worked together for several decades, but the museum announced on Friday that the agreement would not continue.

Sir Ian Blatchford, the director of the Science Museum Group, said that the partnership had drawn to a close at the end of the current contract.

He explained that BP's generous contributions had helped the museum inspire more than eleven thousand education and science professionals.
