Gaga got out of the mud puddle and started running again.

But now he was tired.

"I ate too many berries. And I played too much. I am so tired. Maybe I will rest for just one minute."

Gaga lay down under the tree. He closed his eyes.

"Just for one minute," he said.

But one minute became two minutes. Two minutes became five. And then... Gaga fell asleep!

And Loopy? He was still walking. Step by step. He was getting very close now.

"One step, two steps, keep going."

Loopy walked right past Gaga. He did not stop. He did not look back. He just kept going.

Loopy could see the finish line. He was almost there! Bubbles and Mother Duck were cheering.

"Loopy! Loopy is coming! He is going to win!" says Bubbles.

Back under the tree, Gaga heard the cheering. He woke up and jumped to his feet.

"Oh no! The race! I fell asleep! Run! Run! RUN!" says Gaga.

Gaga ran as fast as he could. But it was too late.

"One step, two steps... I can see it! The finish line!" says Loopy.

"And the winner is... Loopy! Loopy wins the Big Pond Race!" says Mr. Red.

Everyone cheered for Loopy! He was the slowest runner, but he came in first!

Gaga finally arrived at the finish line. He was last. He was covered in mud and berry juice.

"I lost. I was the fastest, but I lost. How did that happen?" asks Gaga.

"You are faster than me, Gaga. But you stopped too many times," says Loopy.

"Being fast is good. But never giving up is even better," says Mother Duck.

"You are right. I was too busy playing and eating. Loopy, you never stopped. You were steady!" says Gaga.

"Next time, let us run together! It is more fun with a friend," says Loopy.

"Yes! And next time, I will not stop for berries. Well... maybe just one," says Gaga.

"Remember everyone: slow and steady wins the race!" says Mr. Red.

"Hooray for Loopy! The steadiest duck at the pond!" says Bubbles.

And so, Loopy learned that you do not have to be the fastest. You just have to keep going.
