It was a beautiful sunny day by the pond.

Today was a very special day.

It was the day of the Big Pond Race!

"Welcome, everyone! Welcome to the Big Pond Race! Who wants to run today?" says Mr. Red.

"I do! I do! I am the fastest duck at the pond. Nobody can beat me!" says Gaga.

"Gaga is very fast. He always wins!" says Bubbles.

"I want to run too. Can I join the race?" asks Loopy.

"You? But Loopy, you are so slow! I am much faster than you!" says Gaga.

"I know I am slow. But I want to try," says Loopy.

"Everyone can join the race. Good luck, Loopy," says Mother Duck.

Loopy and Gaga stood at the starting line.

The race went all the way around the pond and back.

"Are you ready? On your marks... get set... GO!" says Mr. Red.

Gaga ran very, very fast. Zoom! He was far ahead in seconds.

"Ha ha! Look at me! I am running so fast! Loopy is so far behind!" says Gaga.

Loopy did not run. He walked. Slowly and steadily. One step at a time.

"One step, two steps, keep going. One step, two steps, keep going," says Loopy.

"Go, Loopy! You can do it!" says Bubbles.

Gaga was so far ahead, he could not even see Loopy anymore.

Then he saw a big bush full of red berries.

"Oh! Berries! I love berries! Loopy is so slow. I have lots of time. I will eat some berries first," says Gaga.

Gaga stopped to eat. He ate one berry, two berries, three berries, four.

But where was Loopy?

Loopy was still walking. Slowly and steadily. He never stopped.

"One step, two steps, keep going. I am not fast, but I will not stop," says Loopy.

Gaga finished his berries and started running again.

But then he saw a big mud puddle.

"A mud puddle! I love mud puddles! Loopy is still far behind. I can play for a little bit," says Gaga.

Gaga played in the mud. He splashed and splashed.

He was having so much fun, he forgot about the race.

And Loopy? He was still walking. One step at a time.

He was getting closer and closer.

"One step, two steps, keep going. Slow and steady. I will not stop," says Loopy.

"Look at Loopy. He is slower, but he is not stopping. That is very important," says Mother Duck.
