On the third day, Gaga went to pick berries near the dark forest.

Then he heard something.

A sound in the bushes. Rustle, rustle, rustle.

Two yellow eyes appeared in the darkness.

A long red tail swished behind a tree. It was Mr. Red. The real Mr. Red.

"Well, well, well. A little duck. All alone. How lucky for me," says Mr. Red.

"Help! Help! The fox is coming! Please! This is not a joke!" cries Gaga.

The others heard Gaga shouting. But they did not move.

"There he goes again. Another silly joke," says Bubbles.

But Loopy looked more carefully. He saw Gaga running.

And behind Gaga, he saw a flash of red fur.

"Wait — this time it is real! I can see Mr. Red! Quick, everyone, into the brick nest!" shouts Loopy.

Loopy ran toward Gaga. Mr. Red was getting closer and closer.

"Gaga! This way! Run to the pond!" calls Loopy.

The two ducks jumped into the pond just in time.

Mr. Red stopped at the water's edge. He could not swim.

"Grrr! Not again! I hate water!" roars Mr. Red.

Mr. Red turned around and walked back into the dark forest. The ducks were safe.

That evening, the ducks sat together by the pond. Gaga was very quiet.

"I am so sorry. I told lies, and then nobody believed me when I told the truth. I could have been caught," says Gaga.

"It is okay, Gaga. But remember: if you always tell lies, people will not believe you — even when you tell the truth," says Loopy.

"I promise I will never lie about danger again. I want you to trust me," says Gaga.

"And I promise I will always listen — even if I think it might be a joke. Just in case," says Bubbles.

"I am proud of all of you. Being honest takes courage. And trusting again takes even more courage," says Mother Duck.

And from that day on, Gaga never told a lie again.
