"Oh yes, you can eat. But first, you work! And tomorrow, you work again. And the next day too!", says Mrs. Whiskers.

"Gaga, this is a trick! She wants us to stay here and do chores forever!", says Loopy.

"Oh no! I do not want to clean forever! What do we do, Loopy?", says Gaga.

"Do not worry. I have a plan. Let's be clever.", says Loopy.

Loopy made a plan.

He and Gaga pretended to be good little workers.

They cleaned and swept.

And they waited.

"Mrs. Whiskers, we are done cleaning! Would you like some warm milk?", says Loopy.

"Oh, how sweet! Yes, warm milk makes me very sleepy. I mean... happy!", says Mrs. Whiskers.

Soon, she fell fast asleep in her big chair.

"Now, Gaga! Let's go! Quietly! Turn left at the door. Then go right!", says Loopy.

"Gaga! Come on! Let's escape before she wakes up!", says Loopy.

They tiptoed out of the candy house and ran into the forest.

They ran as fast as their little duck legs could go!

But they were still lost in the forest.

"Oh no. We escaped, but we are still lost! How do we find home?", says Gaga.

"Loopy! Gaga! Over here! I found you!", says Bubbles.

"Bubbles! How did you find us?", says Loopy.

"I followed a trail of feathers! You drop feathers when you walk, silly! I followed them all the way here!", says Bubbles.

"Feathers! Of course! Birds ate the breadcrumbs, but they could not eat feathers!", says Gaga.

"Let's go home! Follow me! Turn left here, then go right at the big tree!", says Bubbles.

Bubbles led them through the forest.

Soon, they could see the big blue pond!

"My babies! You are home! I was so worried!", says Mother Duck.

"Mom! We got lost! And there was a candy house! And a sneaky cat!", says Gaga.

"She tried to trick us. She was nice at first, but she wanted us to do chores forever.", says Loopy.

"I am so glad you were clever, Loopy. Always think before you trust someone you do not know.", says Mother Duck.

And so, the three little ducks sat by the pond, safe and warm and together.
