Google DeepMind has agreed to hold formal talks with two UK labor unions.

Several hundred workers at the company's London headquarters recently voted to form a union.

Workers' concerns have been growing about how the US and Israeli governments use DeepMind's artificial intelligence technology for defense and intelligence purposes.

The talks will take place at the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service, which is known as Acas.

Google DeepMind is led by Nobel prize winner Demis Hassabis.

The company refused to recognize the unions immediately for collective bargaining.

Google is also facing a legal challenge from a DeepMind AI researcher of Palestinian heritage.
