A new workplace buzzword has been getting attention recently.

It is called rust-out, and it describes employees who feel under-stimulated and disconnected from their jobs.

Unlike burnout, which happens when people are overwhelmed by too much work, rust-out occurs when workers feel bored and unchallenged.
