“discuss about”是错的！大家最常多加 about / on 的 5 个动词
开会时想说“我们来讨论一下这个计划”，很多人直觉就会说出 Let's discuss about the plan. 听起来很顺，毕竟中文就是“讨论关于这个计划”。可惜这个 about 是多余的，正确说法是 Let's discuss the plan.（我们来讨论这个计划。）
这类错误跟你英文水平没关系，纯粹是中文的“讨论关于”“强调在”会自动在你脑海里塞进一个介词。英语里有一群动词本身就“自带宾语”，后面直接接名词就好，多加 about、on、with 反而会出错。今天用“✗ 中式英语 → ✓ 地道说法”的对照，把这 5 个职场与写作高频动词一次性帮你纠正过来。
先记一个观念：及物动词自己会“抓”宾语
英语动词分两种。有些需要介词当桥梁才能接宾语，例如 listen to music（听音乐）、look at the photo（看那张照片）。但今天这 5 个动词属于另一种：它们是**及物动词**，后面直接接宾语，不需要桥梁。
- 需要桥梁的：listen to、wait for、look at
- 自带宾语的：discuss、emphasize、contact、mention、marry
判断诀窍：如果你发现自己想在动词后面加 about 或 on，先停一秒问自己：“这个词会不会自己抓宾语？”下面五个就是最容易被多加介词的常客。
1. discuss：讨论，不要 discuss about
这是大家开会、汇报时最常犯的错。中文“讨论关于某事”让 about 自动冒了出来：
Let's discuss about the plan.✗ → Let's discuss the plan. ✓（我们来讨论这个计划。）We discussed about the budget yesterday.✗ → We discussed the budget yesterday. ✓（我们昨天讨论了预算。）Can we discuss about it later?✗ → Can we discuss it later? ✓（我们可以晚点讨论这件事吗？）
记忆法：discuss 这个词本身就包含了“关于”的意思，所以你说 discuss about 等于说了两次“关于”。
那“关于某事的讨论”想用名词怎么说？这时要用名词 discussion，后面才接 about：
- We had a discussion about the budget. ✓（我们针对预算进行了讨论。）
简单区分：动词 discuss 后面不加 about，名词 discussion 后面才加 about。
2. emphasize：强调，不要 emphasize on
中文说“强调在安全上”，那个“在”会变成 on 冒出来。但动词 emphasize 后面直接接你要强调的东西：
He emphasized on safety.✗ → He emphasized safety. ✓（他强调安全。）The teacher emphasized on grammar.✗ → The teacher emphasized grammar. ✓（老师强调语法。）She always emphasizes on teamwork.✗ → She always emphasizes teamwork. ✓（她总是强调团队合作。）
如果你真的很想用 on，有一个地道的说法：把动词换成名词 emphasis，搭配 place emphasis on：
- He placed emphasis on safety. ✓（他把重点放在安全上。）
- The company places great emphasis on quality. ✓（这家公司非常重视质量。）
测试法：想用 on 的时候，检查动词是不是 emphasize。是的话，要么拿掉 on，要么整句改成 place emphasis on。两条路选一条，不要混在一起。
3. contact：联系，不要 contact with
写邮件结尾常见一句“我明天会跟你联系”，很多人写成 I will contact with you. 中文“跟你联系”的“跟”把 with 捎带了进来：
I will contact with you tomorrow.✗ → I will contact you tomorrow. ✓（我明天会联系你。）Please contact with our support team.✗ → Please contact our support team. ✓（请联系我们的客服团队。）How can I contact with the manager?✗ → How can I contact the manager? ✓（我要怎么联系经理？）
容易混淆的原因是有个名词短语 in contact with（与某人保持联系）真的用了 with：
- Let's stay in contact. ✓（我们保持联系。）
- I'm still in contact with my old classmates. ✓（我还跟以前的同学保持联系。）
区分法：动词 contact 直接接人（contact you），加了 with 的是名词短语 in contact with。看到动词 contact 后面有 with，就是多余的。
4. mention：提到，不要 mention about
“我需要提一下这件事”很容易说成 mention about this。一样是“提到关于”害的：
We need to mention about this.✗ → We need to mention this. ✓（我们需要提一下这件事。）He mentioned about the meeting.✗ → He mentioned the meeting. ✓（他提到了那场会议。）Did she mention about the price?✗ → Did she mention the price? ✓（她有提到价格吗？）
mention 想表达“某人跟某人提到某事”时，用 to 接“人”，宾语照样直接接，不加 about：
- He mentioned the problem to me. ✓（他跟我提到了那个问题。）
- Did you mention it to your boss? ✓（你跟你老板提过这件事了吗？）
记忆法：mention 和 discuss 是同一类——动词自带“关于”的意思，about 是多余的。
5. marry：结婚，不要 marry with
这道题在闲聊感情、家庭话题时超常出现。中文“跟某人结婚”的“跟”又把 with 搞出来了：
She married with a doctor.✗ → She married a doctor. ✓（她嫁给了一位医生。）He will marry with his girlfriend next year.✗ → He will marry his girlfriend next year. ✓（他明年会跟女朋友结婚。）
如果你想强调“跟某人结婚”这个状态，地道说法是用 get married to（注意是 to，不是 with）：
- She got married to a doctor. ✓（她嫁给了一位医生。）
- They got married last summer. ✓（他们去年夏天结婚了。）
区分法：动词 marry 直接接人（marry someone）；要表达状态就用 get married to someone。两种都不会用 with。

不用一次全记住。挑一个你最常用的场景先练熟，例如开会时的 discuss，这周讲到就刻意拿掉 about，习惯了再加下一个。
